Upload-a-thon!!

Apologies for the lack of posts late, I have been on break from uni and at home I just get nothing done. So here are some of the nails that I did over the last month, well the ones that I remembered to photograph anyway. I think part of the problem was that I was lacking in ideas as well but I feel renewed and hopefully will come up with some amaze summery nails for the coming months. P.S. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos my camera was indisposed so i had to use my Blackberry which as anyone who's got one know knows take awful pictures.

These were crazy neon but also quite cool!!!

These were inspired by this liberty print but unfortunately you cant really see the detail, to get the  fine lines perfect I did the red first and then the pink on top as I knew that I would never get the red line thin enough with a brush.Lagos Laurel C Jersey, Liberty Art Fabrics

These were just a really cool twist on my usual leopard print or the ones with a stripe that I did before, by putting the V-shaped smile lines in it makes the nails look really pointed which is a really modern shape for nails this season.

Fashion Inspired- Prabal Gurung

These images from the Prabal Gurung S/S 2012 show were so beaut I just knew that they would look great on my fingerlings. I looked at the images and came up with this look including a new technique for me marbling, (without water).

Technique
1. Paint nails with a basecoat
2. Paint nails with one very thin coat of white polish
3. Paint a second very thick watery coat of white polish, and very quickly add a few small drops of dark and light purple to each side of the nail in inwardly pointing triangle shapes.
4. Using a cocktail stick or a pin quickly swirl the colours together, but not too much so that colours remain separate, (you don't want to mix them into one colour).
5. Paint on the Purple and black triangles using a fine brush or a nail art pen.
6. Topcoat.

This sounds complicated but it isn't really, you will have more time than you think to play with the swirls as long as you paint a thick enough base colour on. You could even so this all over the nail or maybe as a gradient from the tip up. It goes without saying that you could use whichever colours you wanted but I wanted to create this Prabal Gurung look so I used his colours.

Arrrgh- Nails Fail- Miu Miu

Ewwwww!!! These nails looked like pokemons...  these lovely miu miu bags. They are not exactly my taste but I thought they would translate really well into nails....this is what they were 'sposed to look like... (the yellow one obs.)
This is what they actually looked like...

See I only got half-way through one hand and had to give up... sometimes its best not to continue. I think that if I had chosen the pinks instead it would have been fine, but TBH I am too pale to wear yellow but hey just really like jumped out at me in the photo...? Oh well!!!
